I was born in VT and grew up in South Burlington along with my sister, Caitlin. I attended Christ the King in Burlington for elementary school then transitioned to the South Burlington schools’ for middle and high school. While in high school I took advantage of dual enrollment taking courses in economics at UVM.
At age 14 I prepared myself so that I could receive my lifeguarding certification. After being certified, I took a position as a substitute lifeguard taking shifts when I was needed. During the summers, I became a fulltime lifeguard/counselor for a summer camp for kids entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. During the winters I took the opportunity to try out a few other jobs. I was a safety monitor for a trampoline park and a janitor as part of a clean-up crew after sporting and significant events.
Through time and experiences, I have come to realize that opportunity comes in many forms, many of which may be hard to see. Today I promised myself that when I detect a chance, I will pursue it. I have also promised myself that if I see something that is wrong or can be fixed that I will attempt to improve as much as I can. These two core beliefs are a big part of what lead my candidacy for Chittenden County State Senator.
